Creating Award Designs

This project focused on designing a rewards and awards system for Airlearn that celebrates meaningful learning milestones. The objective was to make progress feel tangible and earned, not abstract. Each award was tied to a specific achievement, such as lesson completion, streak consistency, time spent learning, or leaderboard performance. The system was designed to motivate continued engagement while reinforcing a sense of accomplishment at every stage of the learner’s journey.

Designing Milestones That Feel Earned

A key design goal was to make each award visually compelling enough that users would want to showcase it beyond the app. The badges use bold iconography, strong contrast, and premium lighting to feel collectible and valuable. Clear silhouettes and vibrant accents ensure the awards read instantly at small sizes, while the polished finish elevates them from simple UI elements to social-worthy achievements. This emphasis on visual pride was intentional, encouraging organic sharing and reposting across social platforms.

Driving Growth Through Social Proof

From a growth perspective, the awards system was designed to directly support Airlearn’s k-factor by turning user progress into visible social signals. Shareable achievements help normalize learning as a habit and act as lightweight referrals when surfaced in public feeds. By blending motivation, identity, and recognition into a cohesive system, the awards not only improved retention but also transformed progress into a growth loop—where every milestone achieved becomes an invitation for others to join the journey.
